Today’s bite times, where you are

Worked out in your browser with the same sun and moon math the watch uses. On the watch the barometer joins in.

–

The bite score is an angler’s rule of thumb from moon phase and how the windows line up with dawn and dusk. It is not a promise. Fish never read it.

    Questions

Do I need my phone on the water?

No. Bite times, catch logging, spots and records all work on the watch alone. The phone only brings weather and tides, and opens the QR export.

How is the bite score worked out?

From the moon phase, how the solunar windows line up with dawn and dusk, and the 3-hour pressure trend from the watch barometer. It is folk wisdom put into numbers, not a guarantee.

What are major and minor windows?

Majors are the two hours around the moon passing overhead or underfoot. Minors are the hour around moonrise and moonset. Many anglers find fish more active then. With the alert on, the watch buzzes 10 minutes before a major window during a trip.

    Where does my data go?

Catches stay on your watch, and the trip summary goes to your Garmin Connect activity. There is no Fish On server or account. A trip leaves the watch only in the QR link you choose to open, and it rides after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Weather comes through Garmin; for tides your phone asks Open-Meteo with a position rounded to about 10 km, so Open-Meteo sees your phone’s IP address; the trip map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Details are in the privacy policy.

    Does it work at sea?

Yes. On coastal spots the app can show tides from Open-Meteo, fetched through your phone (still in beta), and the species list has cod, sea bass, tuna, snook, redfish and more.

    Which languages?

English, Slovak, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish and Dutch, on the watch and on this site.
